Summary
Unit 10 of 10 · Module 12: Build agent-driven workflows using Microsoft Foundry
Read this lesson
Patchwork of the module
In this module, you learned to build workflows that coordinate agents in Microsoft Foundry. A workflow is a path of nodes: agents that reason, flow nodes that branch and loop, data nodes that store values in variables, and chat nodes that talk to people. You met three patterns: sequential for fixed steps, human in the loop for approvals and questions, and group chat for passing control between specialists. Structured JSON output from agents, saved into variables, lets If/Else nodes route each request, and For each processes a whole list with the same steps. Power Fx formulas glue it together. Versions, the YAML view, and notes keep it maintainable, and the SDK runs it from your own code.
What's next
Remember that the visual designer retires on December the first, 2026, and Microsoft recommends Microsoft Agent Framework for new workflows. That's exactly where Module 13 begins: building agents, and later whole teams of them, in code with Agent Framework.
