Five dioramas
In this module, you learned why a team of specialist agents can do what one agent can't: split the skills, combine the answers, and pass work to whoever fits. Workflows connect executors with edges and report what's happening through events. Then you met five patterns. Concurrent runs agents side by side on the same task. Sequential passes work down a fixed line. Group chat shares one conversation, with an orchestrator choosing the next speaker. Handoff lets agents pass control directly as needs become clear. And Magentic gives a manager a plan and a ledger for open-ended problems. Each one has a builder with the same shape: agents in, build, run, read the outputs.
What's next
To go further, read Agent Framework's guides to orchestrations and workflows. Next, in Module 15, you'll connect agents that live on different servers, using the agent-to-agent protocol, A2A.
